Tellington TTouch Training

Xtra Dog® Training

Canine Body Language • Reactive Rascals • Calmness Rocks • Leash Off Game On

Welcome to Xtra Dog Training. Our head trainer, Alex Wilson is the only certified Tellington TTouch Practitioner Level 2 who is also a certified Pro Dog, Concept Trainer and so can offer a unique perspective on dog training, combining these two cutting edge modalities to help you and your dog/s.

We are based on the Nottinghamshire / Leicestershire border and in central London. We offer one to one dog training and behavioural advice at both locations, as well as behaviour advice over Skype or Facetime and teach workshops in Tellington TTouch, Canine Body Language, Recall and Challenging Dogs around the UK and in Europe. For details of our workshops please click here.

Tellington TTouch is a training method for dogs that incorporates bodywork and groundwork exercises to help improve coordination, balance and athletic ability. TTouch is a tried and tested method to teach dogs how to act, rather than react to situations and help them to make great choices. We offer TTouch in the East Midlands and Central London.

Concept Training was developed by vet behaviourist Dr. Tom Mitchell and looks at training concepts rather than single behaviours. Examples of concepts are optimism, confidence, orientation, calmness, grit to name a few and we look at methods to help dogs in these areas. The methods we use will include playing fun games with our dogs, clicker training along with some of the Tellington TTouch bodywork and groundwork techniques and other methods that are appropriate.

We also offer general dog training, puppy training and behaviour advice. Tellington TTouch and concept training are great solutions for dogs that are high-drive or who are fearful, anxious or who present challenging behaviours . Please have a look around the site for more information about the services we offer and who we are.

Xtra Dog Training will only use positive, non-aversive training methods and we conform to the code of ethics of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (UK).

This is a great way to learn more about TTouch in a hands on course. We run these courses in different locations, or you could host one for your dog training club or training school. We offer a 2 Calmness Course, a full day introduction, intermediate and half day/evening taster course.

We can offer you help on a one to one basis. Whether you are bringing a new puppy home or you have struggles with an older dog we have a strategy for you. We operate in Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire and Central London using  a combination of concept training, clicker training and

Tellington TTouch.

Tellington TTouch is a training method that does not use fear or force to help dogs to make positive choices. It combines hands-on body touches, with slow groundwork exercises and looks at the link between posture and behaviour. TTouch helps to create physical, mental and emotionally balanced dogs
