TRAIN AS A PRACTITIONER

Xtra Dog now offers practitioner training in Association with Tellington TTouch Canada

Tellington TTouch® Training is an internationally recognise method of training animals and at Xtra Dog we are delighted to be able to offer dog courses in conjunction with Tellington TTouch Canada. Currently all practitioner training is being offered online and with live teaching via Zoom, and reading material.  All practitioners in training are evaluated before being certified to practice the method.

Due to the effect of the pandemic and it not being possible for people to travel to hands-on trainings, the practitioner track has changed to be offer students the same levels of teaching and for them to be able to qualify without the need to travel.

The Practitioner track is geared towards individuals currently working towards Tellington TTouch Practitioner certification but cannot attend the number of hands on trainings typically required for completion.

The  traditional Practitioner program requires attendance at six, 5 or 6 day hands-on workshops plus case studies.

To stay current with the present travel restrictions the programme has been updated.

Practitioner courses can now be completed entirely online and remotely.

Tellington TTouch Practitioners for Dogs may work one on one with clients as official representatives of the work.

Practitioner Certification via Online and Zoom Learning

Becoming a Practitioner with Tellington TTouch Online Courses requires a certain amount of self discipline, interest in learning and a commitment to practice.

For those who have not previously attended any in person trainings, the first step would be to attend an our monthly Tellington TTouch Introduction courses  prior to  taking a Level 1 Interactive course.

After the initial course, students continue taking sessions to amass 60 credits to cover the core curriculum. This includes taking Level 1 and Level 2 two times, ideally with at least 2 different instructors. As well as the working with clients course (available directly though Tellington TTouch Canada).

In addition to these courses, a variety of Electives* may count for credits, such as TTouch-For-You® or any dog or companion animal related Interactive course that has not been mentioned previously.

Students may also choose to add a single online Course that may count as credits, this must be a course that is not included in the Intro, Level 1, or Level 2 options.  These are completely self paced.

Once a student has earned at least 60 credits and completed course assignments, including the 5 detailed Case Studies; they are eligible for the evaluation process

You are welcome to attend more Interactive courses, register for elective courses, or enlist the support of a mentor prior to evaluation.

The nature of the Tellington TTouch Method is that learning is somewhat “spiral” or “layered”. The more you learn, the more you refine and add to existing skills and knowledge. For this reason taking any Level of Interactive course more than once will NOT feel redundant.

Certification is contingent on the evaluation of the coursework, videos, and overall skill level.
